1. Reducing Biological Oxygen Demand (BOD)

Biological Oxygen Demand (BOD) measures the amount of dissolved oxygen needed by aerobic biological organisms to break down organic material in a water sample. 3. Harnessing Anaerobic Digestion for High Loads

For industrial sites with exceptionally high organic concentrations, anaerobic digestion (AD) is a highly effective method. Unlike aerobic processes, which require constant energy-intensive aeration, anaerobic digestion breaks down organic matter in an oxygen-free environment.

  • Energy Recovery: One major benefit of AD is the production of biogas (methane), which can be repurposed as a renewable energy source for the plant.
  • Sludge Reduction: AD significantly decreases the volume of solid waste, reducing your costs for tankering and disposal.
